SolarOasis — Granted U.S. Patent Number 6,921,182 For Ruby Gro–Bar Technology

Press Release: March 21, 2005

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Willows, California – Traveling down a wet track at speeds up to 180 mph, the latest SolarOasis RainRacer prototype, attached to the back of national champion Randy Cook’s Formula Atlantic race car, was the only rain light visible at last weekend’s Thunderhill Double National races. SolarOasis CEO, Larry Capen, was in the tower working Timing & Scoring for the races, giving him a good vantage point for observing the RainRacer’s performance. Every steward and T&S worker in the tower was talking about his (Randy Cook’s) rain light, Larry commented later, also noting, "A lot of buzz quickly filled the paddock." Randy used the magnetically mounted version of the RainRacer and, as anticipated by SolarOasis’ engineers, the magnets held their position despite the very wet conditions, severe vibration, and extreme air movement. For this race the RainRacer featured its latest triangular shape with a tough polycarbonate cover to provide maximum protection for the LEDs. Both the RainRacer light and its small light weight control box feature complete epoxy encapsulation. ( top )
